Check out the first ingredient on a can of soda or even a sports drink. Sugar by any other name is still sugar! Labels hide sugar as fructose, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, maltose, etc. Did you know that a 12 ounce can of soda contains approximately 9 teaspoons of sugar and some popular sports drinks contain more than 20? Make clear, pure water your drink of choice. Flavor it with a squeeze of fresh lemon, lime, or orange.
