The Center for Food Safety and Nutrition states, “Food-borne disease can have a life-altering impact”. Food poisoning can lead to permanent disease in some cases, so use precaution. Before handling raw poultry, seafood, meat, or eggs, always wash your hands in hot soapy water. Check to see that your refrigerator’s thermostat is set to 40 degrees. Do not thaw foods at room temperature but rather defrost them in the refrigerator. To be continued….
